Panipat Refinery

Panipat is a historical town in the state of Haryana. Known for being the battleground of three historical battles in Indian history, this town is also known for the various industries which have developed in and around the town. It is well known as the city of weavers with the flourishing handloom industry here. Durries, carpets, handloom made shawls, bed covers, table covers, mats and similar items are made and sold all over the country as well as abroad.

Panipat has several heavy industries in this town with the Indian Oil Corporation refinery being one of them. This refinery of Indian Oil is the seventh refinery of the oil giant which is located at a distance of 23 km from the Panipat City.

The Indian Oil corporation refinery is one of the most modern refinery in the country developed with global technologies. This refinery processes both indigenous and imported forms of crude oil. The various petroleum products produced in this refinery are transported by rail, road or dedicated environmental friendly pipelines to the nearby states of Punjab, J&K, Himachal, Uttaranchal, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana and Chandigarh. LPG is also produced at this refinery which is transferred through dedicated pipelines to the Indian Oil’s Kohand Bottling plant for bottling and bulk dispatch.

This refinery has been around the town for more than four years and its capacity has been doubled since its initial setup. Accordingly, this refinery has its own township and has created several job opportunities for the people of Panipat.

Panipat refinery jobs are in accordance with Indian Oil Corporation’s career guidelines for employment throughout the country. Jobs are created at management level from officer grade for graduates from premier engineering institutes, management institutes as well as post graduate degree holders of relevant disciplines. The various units at the refinery, the bottling plants, marketing units, terminals and other associated units provide ample employment opportunities for blue collar and white collar workers as well.
